Jacobsen Series: Sphinx EXIGENCE Vocal Ensemble Broadcast
Sphinx EXIGENCE is a professional vocal ensemble led by founding conductor Eugene Rogers comprised of vocal artists including solo performers, educators, conductors and composers who celebrate the power of community and expression through choral music.
This concert is made possible through the Sphinx Organization residency hosted by the School of Music in partnership with African American Studies, Tacoma Public Schools, Tacoma Youth Symphony, and the Tacoma Youth Chorus with support from Puget Sound's Matthew Norton Clapp Visiting Artists Fund.
The broadcast performance will feature works by Xavier Foley, Joel Thompson, Philip Herbert, Ndikhokele Bawo (arr. Lhente Mari-Pitout), and Glory from Selma (arr. Eugene Rogers).
Welcome to the virtual Jacobsen Series spring 2021 season. Due to current limitations on public gatherings due to COVID-19, spring concerts will be streamed online via Schneebeck LIVE.
We welcome you to enjoy these inspiring performances free of charge. As an option, tickets are available for purchase, with proceeds going toward music outreach and scholarships.
Thank you for supporting the School of Music Virtual Jacobsen Series!
